HEAT SUPPLY AND ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES 2023

About the event

The crisis of energy resources in Europe and the subsequent inflation in the previous heating period in Latvia caused a significant increase in the price of heat energy and electricity supply services, which most directly affected the solvency of Latvian citizens and the competitiveness of industrial producers. Although relatively favorable climatic conditions and state support mechanisms helped households and small producers survive the most difficult period, the recovery is slow, and the new heating season is awaited with great caution.

At the same time, and what is positive, entrepreneurs continue to reorganize and implement various energy efficiency and energy consumption optimization solutions to the best of their ability, as well as switching to more economically beneficial use of energy resources, investing in long-term solutions, which, of course, allows us to look optimistically towards the achievement of climate goals. On the other hand, increasing the capacity to implement solutions for thermal energy and electricity generation from renewable energy sources, there are discussions about how not to end up in the other extreme, when the energy produced is too much and when the market prices are shrinking, it is difficult to recover the investments, because of which we have all paid more.

The golden mean is between sustainable production of thermal energy, economically justified delivery of it to consumers throughout Latvia and energy technologies that allow optimizing energy consumption and increasing efficiency.

The publishing house “Dienas Bizness” together with industry leaders is organizing the annual conference

HEAT SUPPLY AND ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES 2023

Efficient heat energy production and supply in Latvia
Energy efficiency and optimization of energy consumption

to find answers to the following key questions just before the start of the new heating season:

  • day 1 – how much will we pay for heat energy and electricity supply services in the upcoming heating season?
  • day 2 – how will the industry develop in the near future and how will it affect energy-intensive companies and industrial producers?

Conference time: September 6 (09:00 – 17:00) and 7 (09:00 – 16:30), 2023 (UTC+3)
Conference place: Semarah Hotel Lielupe, 64/68 Bulduru Prospectus, Jurmala

The following are invited to participate in the conference: producers and suppliers of thermal energy and electricity, representatives of energy-intensive companies and industrial producers, municipal governments, responsible state institutions and policy makers, building managers and real estate developers, representatives of financial and development institutions, investors.

The goal: to find common denominators for affordable, sustainable production of heat and electricity, supply, and optimization of energy consumption for Latvian citizens, balancing between the resources available to the country, the interests of entrepreneurs and the possibilities of consumers.
